《我的梦想》

对于未来，大家都有自己的梦想。老师、医生、画家、科学家是很有名的而且是令人尊敬的职业。
我是一名十六岁的学生，目前我还不知道什么职业是最适合我的，我也不想现在就匆忙决定，但仍然有自己许多的梦想，我希望能够实现。
我认为能得到别人的尊敬是很重要的。我希望自己能成为别人的偶像，这表示我在某个特定的方面做得相当出色和成功，我喜欢那种达到最高境界的感觉。我喜欢美术，在这方面我做得非常好，所以，当人们交口称赞我的作品时，我高兴极了。
也许，长大以后能成为一名画家就是我的梦想吧！

Over the years, by watching Chinese programming and taking to my parents, I have acquired quite a fair bit of Chinese. My ability to speak and hear Cantonese was good but however, my writing and reading was poor. Although I have attended Chinese School for several years, it was just too hard for me to learn Cantonese.
My Parent soon decided that learning to write Chinese was too hard and that I should begin to learn to speak mandarin. Mandarin would be very useful to me in the future as there are lots of job opportunities in China. Learning to speak Mandarin is a lot easier than Cantonese simply because of the Ping-yin. When the characters are spelled in English, it makes it rather easy to learn.
I think that attending Mandarin classes isn't the only way I'm learning Chinese. When watching TV, I am also able to pick up a lot of information. Chinese programming has played a major role in my process of learning Chinese. I watch it everyday and I am usually able to understand most of the words they are saying. If I hadn't been watching Chinese TV every night, I guarantee my understanding of Chinese wouldn't have been as good.
Overall, Confucius Classroom has definitely helped me in learning Chinese. Once I finish learning how to speak Mandarin, I will be able to speak another language and also be able to work in China. Learning Mandarin will be a slow and hard process but it will definitely pay off in the future.

Hello my name is梁景匡and I am going to tell you about how I learned Chinese. China is one of the countries that have the longest history.
I started learning Chinese when I was five. I wasn't learning Mandarin but I was learning Cantonese. After 6 years I started to learn Mandarin because it was easier than Cantonese. I learned how to speak Cantonese from Chinese School and also from TVB films. I learned from the TVB films by listening to what the actors are saying. Then I started to say the words so then I learned a lot of Cantonese that way. For mandarin, I learned from the Confucius Classroom and also from going on a vacation in 2006 when I went to Hong Kong and also Beijing. I found mandarin a lot easier to pronounce when they have the letters in English. My parents also taught me hoe to pronounce the words. So that helped me a lot.
I hope you enjoyed reading my essay about how I learned two languages that are still Chinese, which are Cantonese and Mandarin. Thank you.
